WritingGigs.com is a bulletin board of a sister company of Afton Institute, LLC . We are an online publisher of practical electronic books based in the Far East of San Francisco Bay Area, Northern California.
In our well-funded growing startup publishing company, we continuously hire writers and editors, as well as acquiring professionally-written and well-researched manuscripts of practical, how-to, and condensed books. A typical electronic book is of 30,000 words length, approximately 100 to 120 published pages.
At the moment, we are looking forward to acquire manuscripts in the following categories:
- Condensed classics (world philosophers and thinkers)
- Biographies (celebrities, intellectuals, businesspeople, and inventors)
- How-to (things that would make our lives easier)
- Starting a career
- Starting a business
- Dating and relationship
- Happiness
- Getting rich (unusual how-to get rich tips, but not get-rich quick schemes)
- Self-help and motivational (other than on happiness, dating and relationship)
- Internet success (success stories of Internet businesses)
Our goal is to publish 1,000 ebook titles in the first stage of our startup development.
Do you have what we are looking for?
- College/university professors, topic experts, and published professional writers and bloggers who are familiar with a specific topic.
- Completely written manuscripts of the above topics (word length: 30,000 words) upon agreed timeframe (usually 60 days).
- The manuscript will follow certain guidelines and template to ensure uniformity and quality.
How can you apply?
- Submit a query on the topic you have chosen. Pitch with substance and style, impress us.
- Submit a cover letter specifying why you are the right person to write the ebook.
- Submit a professional resume or CV specifying your writing experiences.
- Include writing samples in PDF format (other formats will be deleted automatically by our email system).

If you’re accepted, then what?
- You will be requested to sign an agreement on finishing the agreed manuscript within 60 days.
- Upon acceptance of the completed manuscript, you will be requested to sign a publishing agreement, in which you will be receiving 15% royalty of sales price.
- Royalties will be paid quarterly.
